It will be 10 months on Saturday, May 15th that my beloved dog Apache passed away. So I just wanted to write something to him to let him know that just because time has past does not mean I have forgotten about him, I feel that this is the only way I can connect to him…. I know dogs can’t read but I somehow feel he gets my messages so here goes:
Hello my boy… how’s things up in heaven going? As you can see I don’t live at home anymore… Dad and I just couldn’t get along so now I’m on my own and I wish so much that you were here with me, you always made the tough life better, always made me feel like I could go on, like I had a reason… but I know that you’re watching over me.
Please don’t be upset with me about leaving your grave behind, it was kinda hard to take with me when I left home and I know your body’s there and you’re not but I made such a beautiful spot for you there and as you know Id visit you daily since your passing and sit there and talk to you… so now our new spot to talk will have to be near the water, ok? I got a new furry friend to help my healing process… his name is Kody and I can see a little of you in him.
He is a Siberian Husky so you and him have some in common… hes not you but he does help a little.. the funny things he does reminds me of you and how you always used to make me laugh when I needed it, but hes not you. He doesn’t quite get the whole “sorry you’re sad mama, cheer up” thing like you used too. So maybe you can talk to him and let him know that when I’m crying, it means all I need is some doggy love and for him to come sit with me like you used to, instead of go chase his chew toys. It will be 10 months since I had to put you down on Saturday and I plan on going to the docks to think of you, I would send you balloons like I did all the other anniversaries but as you can see, Mama’s in a financial debt right now, so I’ll send my love. I’m going to a memory walk for one of my friends on Sunday with Kody around Wickford, where you used to love to walk, it’s to raise money to help animals
so I’m doing it in honor of you.
Well my boy.. I’m sending you my love as always and dint forget about me down here, I still need you.
