Sparky, My Love,
Sparky was the best little dog in the world, at least to us he was. We got him and his brother when they were 4 months old.(His brother died in 2001) He was a birthday gift for my 8 year old son, Ben, but soon became Momma’s boy. He loved me so and he wanted to be where ever I went.
He loved Wendy’s chicken nuggets and steak better than anything. When ever I would go to town I would get his nuggets for as soon as I would come thru the door he would be jumping and running for he knew Mom had something good for him.
Sparky had so many health problems in his life. First, a large dog nearly killed him. He lost an eye, he had a hernia that required surgery. Several surgeries to repair what that dog did to him. He had a testicle removed from inside, but the worst was a mouth tumor that was attached to the bone, the type that was cancerous.
Our Vet told us that we shouldn’t be concerned, if it got bigger, then he’d remove it. Well, I should have not listened to him. It got bigger and when we took him back the vet says “Too Late”. So, for these last 3 years my baby had it rough. Oh, he would go about a month at first before getting real sick. Then he would be ok for awhile. But for the last 6 months or so he could barely get a few days without getting so ill. At last, we just couldn’t stand seeing the little guy suffer any longer. It has been the worst days of my life since he’s been gone.
He was everything to me. I fed him with a fork for a year because the tumor was so large. He was nearly blind so I had to carry him up and down the steps so he could go outside. But Lord, if I could see him one more time. He was our baby, and the love he gave us will never be matched. He was a fighter till the end. He is sorely missed by his family. Lord keep my baby with you until I can be with him again.
With a broken, lonely heart,
| Sparky |
