Cali,
You are such a good girl. And I love you so much.
You were the best dog.
We were together for 10 yrs. and I enjoyed every minute.
I got you after the tornado came through Lancaster, TX in 1994. You were a puppy that had been displaced and
I took you home.
Being a Police Officer, I was sometimes sad or angry when I came home after work. You were always there to greet me and stay by my side. I always remember that you would follow me where ever I went in the house when I was there. If I went to the computer room, you would lay in the doorway between it and my bedroom. When it was time for me to go to bed you would go out the doggy door and come back in after you “took care of business”. Then you would lay beside me on the bed while I slept. You would drape your paw over my hand as if to tell me “all was okay” when I laid there thinking about the next day. You would lay between the bed and my bathroom door while I got ready for work.
You were always so active and it hurt me when you started to have problems with your hips. It happened so fast. I never expected it. You soon could only lay beside my bed. I took you to “Dr. Tim”, and we tried several medications.I could see the hurt in your eyes.
On 06/11/04 I saw that you could no longer make it through the doggy door and that it was hard for you to get up or walk. I took you to “Dr. Tim” and he told me you were hurting. I made the decision to let you go to “Rainbow Bridge”.
It was 5:53pm that day.
My days are filled with sorrow now and I miss you. I had you cremated so that I could have you with me always. When my time comes I will be cremated also and we will be joined together. Then we will walk over “Rainbow Bridge” together.
I love you, Cali.
