Alexander {Xander} by Larry Ward / Albert & Larry

Xander was Larry’s beloved rat terrier puppy. Although he was only with us for a very short time, Xander came to mean a great deal to us both. We got Xander in the summer of 2003 after Larry had been in the hospital for ten weeks and had lost both his kidneys and had cardiac bypass surgery. Xander represented a new start for us both – a new life to cherish like the new life Larry had been given when he recovered from being in the hospital.

Xander was vivacious and full of life. He loved to play ball and would fetch his bone or other toys for hours. He loved to cuddle with us. Xander loved to play outside in the yard, and he was busy building something with our firewood when he died. Xander used to eat with Larry, even standing up to Larry’s tray to be fed. He would eat right off of a fork!

Xander was chasing the neighbor’s cat when he was hit by a car and killed on Good Friday, 2004!

We love you, Xander!
