I got Christina when I was ten years old as a gift from my mom. She was the cutest little kitten I have ever seen (although everyone said she was ugly). She had tortis shell coloring, which means she was kinda splotchy. She also had ringworm, which gave her little bold spots, and gave ringworm to the whole street. Even though she got us all sick, she was still a perfect little kitten.
Chris was the runt of the litter, so she never got to big. Her small size didn’t stop her from having three large litters. Two litters of seven and one of six. It was so cute to see such a small cat with such a big belly.
As the years went by Chris still keep her little kitten habits, like stealing and hiding bead ties, shoulder rides, beating up dogs, and licking furniture. She adapted seamlessly to new pets as well as new surroundings.
This May she made it to her 16th birthday, but in June her heath went drastically down hill. Her kidneys were finally failing her, and she would not eat. She had gotten very thin and weak. On the morning of June 30th I found her lying where I had put her the night before, next to my bed. She was unable to stand on her own and would not even old up her own head.
Having her put to sleep was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but I know that it has saved her from suffering and pain. Chris was cremated and I now have her ashes. She lived a long life, a good life and she was the best companion that one could ever wish for.
You will never be forgotten
