Gwendolyn came to us when she was just a few weeks old. Her mother had either died or abandoned her. Some students at the University of West Florida brought her to my office and I adopted her. Later this year, my wife and I married and Gwendolyn has been a part of our marriage since. Through three job changes and six moves, she was always there. She was diagnosed with diabetes earlier this summer. However, I did not believe the end would come so fast. Just the day before yesterday, you were the ever-present Gwendolyn, following us around the kitchen as we cooked dinner. Then yesterday, your little body could no longer hold up under the strain of the terrible disease. We love you and will miss you terribly.
