Miss Maxie Jones by Roy & Peggy Jones / Daddy

Dearest sweet, kind, gentle, loving little Maxie…this morning you had to leave us down here and go with the angels on a journey apart from us. How my heart aches and feels such deep grief and sadness right now. Honey, your Daddy loves you and misses you so much, more than anyone or anything I have ever lost before in my whole life.
But I know that you are safely in the loving arms of The Lord, Who I know and trust will keep you safe and warm until we meet again. So honey, you just go ahead and have yourself a wonderful little romp there in God’s heaven with Dad, Mother, Marty, and all the other loved ones who have gone on. Like so many times through the years of my life, when I came home and opened the door and there you were to greet me, to love me, to lick my face, to let me know how much you cared for and missed me while I was gone, I long for the time when after my life down here has run it’s course and I stroll through heaven’s gate, there you’ll be, jumping for joy, doing the happy little hot feet dance you were so good at, and leaping into my arms, smothering me with your love and affection.
And then once again I’ll be able to hug you and squeeze you and say, “Yes, yes, yes! Yes, yes, yes! Did you miss me? Now turn around and let me hug you the other way! Daddy loves his little dog!” God bless you, honey.
