Haley Baley by Robyn Johnson / Mommy

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower,
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down today.
Nothing gold can stay.

Dearest Haley,

Thanks for being my gold for four years. You managed to trust again, be happy, and show me what love truly means. Even after your cancer diagnosis, you managed to demonstrate happiness and caring. You made everyone around you laugh, after you left, you made everyone around you cry. You can not believe how incredibly hard it has been since you went to heaven. I miss you more every day.
