Dearest Kyle, ^..^
You were a tiny kitten when you came to live with me. You were one of a family of 6 kittens — a “six-pack,” and you were born on St. Patrick’s Day. I was SOOO happy to have you in my life, because at that time I had sadly gone thru the loss of two precious babies. I named you Selena “Kyle” which is Catwoman’s name. We always called you Kyle, and your big brother Handsome loved you so much. As the years went by, I had children … and you at first were not very happy. You were always my first “baby.”
Eventually, you came to tolerate your human siblings, although they were loud, and you felt they took your place on my lap. Every night you would sleep at my feet, keeping them warm. Every morning I would awake, and you would be there, and I would pet you and say “I love you. Good morning.” And I did love you … so much. Enough to let you go when you were very sick, and the vet said there was nothing we could do to save you. You were suffering, so I made the decision to let you go. We told you we loved you … and held and petted you one last time.
Since you have been gone … we have been so sad. Everyday I miss you. Every night I long for you sleeping by my side. Every morning I awake … and you are not here. You are gone. Gone, but never forgotten. You will always be missed … and loved. Thank you for all the love and purrs you gave to me. Your love was so bright and so unconditional. You were the best!!! Thank you for helping bring Katlin to us. On the day you died, Katlin was abandoned at a gas station. I feel you lead her to us. We took her in … and gave her a home. She’s a sweet kitten, and we know you are watching over her from Above.
