Felix by Richard and Adrienne / Mom (Adrienne) and Dad (Rick) and the crew…

Felix the cat. My son was allowed to name this little tiny ball of fur with the loudest mouth! He was only a couple of weeks old. If that. He was found in someone’s yard and I took him home. The vet said he would never make it and Felix proved them wrong. He was eyedropper fed. And as he got stronger and could walk he found out the dog would let him nurse on her. He grew up thinking he was a puppy.

He fetched milk rings and even would put them over my son’s toe, closed doors if there was a string or something he could pull the door with attached. And called mama if I was ‘lost’ in the house. My husband thought I was nuts, but he finally heard him for himself. I miss that.

Felix walked on a leash, it was funny to watch him and Lucy(cat) and the pet rat walk together outside on them! Whenever he heard Faith by George Michael on tv he would come watch him tap his boot. After the song was over he went about his way. He was very good to all the strays that found us and so gentle. The last pictures I have of him will show the newest set of babies all sleeping with him. He had old age problems. Couldn’t walk well, went blind and still ate good. But he slowed down. You could see it.

My husband was home and nursed him and made sure he was ok. But it was very plain to see that Felix was leaving us a bit at a time. He died very peacefully. I held him in my arms and told him that I loved him and Dad does too and he will see Lucy again and all the others that he knew and we would bring back home.

Dad misses him something awful and of course I do too, but he was old and there wasn’t anything we could do to ‘fix’ him and it was just his time. And how very fast it went. Every time we came in the house we knew we had to look out for him as he was blind. Sometimes he got stuck somewhere and would just wait til either we found him or one of his kitty buddies would lead him out. He was such a good cat. Felix, we will miss you so much Mr. Stinkydinky.
