Chippy by Cherie Wagensomer / MOM

On the day before my wedding I was given an unwanted JRT named Chippy. He was afraid and ornery and not afraid to nip but over the years he learned to love and his favorite spot was to sleep behind my knees under the blankets.

Chippy was never an easy dog to live with but we learned to respect each other and he loved with his whole heart. In his 8th year Chippy changed from the dog we had loved for the past 7 1/2 years to a total stranger
that was actually quite violent.

After many specialists and tests it was determined that Chippy was suffering from a form of brain disease/mental illness and there wasn’t much hope for him to ever be the special being he had always been. Sadly he couldn’t fight any more as I will always suspect he fought this his whole life. Chippy was released from his pain in August of 2004.

I will always miss you dear boy. Look at all the fosters that we have saved since then Chipster, that is your doing buddy you changed my life.
