Sylvester by Tawnya & Matt & Nathaniel / Mommy & Daddy & Nathaniel

This is my cat, Sylvester. He was my best friend for nearly 3 years. This is my tribute to him. He took naps with me. He would sit on the tub when I took a bath, and play with the bubbles. He would sit on my lap and watch TV with me.

He liked Animal Planet. He had a quirky habit of drinking out of the kitchen sink or bathtub, rather than drinking the water in his bowl. Sylvester’s favorite place to nap was draped across my neck or in the crook of my bent leg. If I was sad, he was there. If I was happy, he was there. When he was a kitten, he actually jumped into the bathtub with me.

It was comforting to hear him purr in my ear when I scratched his head or behind his ears, just the right way. He loved to hide and jump out at you and bite your ankles. Of course, at the time, it hurt and it kinda made me mad. But I miss his playfulness already. He was a loyal friend.

He didn’t even like my husband getting too close to me. He’d wiggle his way between my husband and myself just to be near me. I’ll even miss finding him molesting my stuffed animals. It was actually quite funny. Of course that meant I was always washing my stuffed animals. But he sure was happy. There are many more things that my lil Sylvester did. He had his own individual personality. He was feisty and aggressive. Not aggressive in a mean way.
It was in a good way.

He loved being around me but he also had his own space. I will hold each of my memories of him close to my heart for many many years. On this St. Patrick’s Day,
I said goodbye to my best friend.
