Duchess by Megan / Megan (Duchess’s Girl)

There once was a dog. An ordinary dog. She didn’t save lives or have a job. She was a chubby beagle who loved food and would do anything to get some. She looked like a dog, barked like a dog, and at first glance was just any old dog. But she was so much more. She had a family who adored her.
She had two girls that she helped raise. She watched them grow up and was their best friend the whole time. She showed the sensitive side of a “tough guy” type of dad every day when he’d tell her how much he loved her when he thought no one was looking. She had an incredible bond with a mom who took care of her just as well as she did her own children, and in return she gave the mom support, affection, and love.
Everyone who came to this pup’s home was greeted with a wagging tail and a kiss on the cheek. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body. Kids would come over and pull on her tail and and squeeze her tightly, and she would just lick them on the face. She was the purest form of love her family had ever seen. She was more than just an ordinary dog. She was a member of a family who touched the lives of everyone she met.
She was my best friend.

My sweet dog and best friend,
Not a single day goes by that I don’t think of you, my little angel. You were the best dog anyone could ever ask for and so much more. You were a member of our family. No words do our love justice. You are a part of me forever. I will live the rest of my life with you in my heart. The things you have taught me will guide me. I thank God each and every day that we had 11 wonderful years together. I couldn’t have asked for a better friend. We will be together again one day my sweets, for heaven will not be heaven for me without you. I love you with all my heart and miss you terribly.

Love forever and always,
Duchess
