Isabel was such a beautiful little girl. When her mom started having pregnancy complications, she was fighting for her life even before she was born. Delivery was a nightmare and we nearly lost Mom and all the pups. As the smallest, weakest pup of her already small and weak litter, she was born anorexic and had a rough start. After overcoming her rough birth, Hurricane Wilma hit.
After very hot Florida weather, the temperature suddenly dropped. Her already weak immune system allowed her to catch a deadly URI. Without power to keep her warm, it was very difficult. Even with veterinary treatment, she was just too small and weak to survive. She died in my arms 2 short days after her appointment. I’ll never forget her. She was such a beautiful girl and was growing into a beautiful sow.
