Taffy went through so much in the last year and a half of his life. He was diagnosed with heart disease three days before christmas in December 2004, and we took him up to a cottage in Scotland which was always his favourite place. He sat by the glass patio doors and watched the Pine Martins for hours on end, barking if they came to close and then wagging his tail and looking all pleased with himself for scaring them away. He was coping well until Feburary 2005, when he started to get fluid on his chest. He was given more medication and only three months to live from then. He went on to live and be happy for another year and a half from that point. The specialist and his vet were both astounded with him, and said he was a little miracle. He was a real little soldier. Towards the end, he started to bite his foot due to a wart he had in between his toes. He cut off the blood supply to one of his toes,
