Annie by Cecelia / Cecelia

I have been thinking of Annie and all the ways she was and the things she did. She herded the sparrows in the trees in the backyard. She launched out the back door whenever she saw a squirrel in the yard. In her first house, I would go and ask the next door neighbor if Browner could come out to play. Browner was a mild manner Brittany Spaniel that was twice the size of Annie. Annie would still chase him aggressively around the yard and bark at him to play. Annie also tried to herd a huge garbage truck. Fortunately the guys in the truck stopped and let me get her. She was a bundle of energy in her younger days. She impressed everyone with her jumping straight up into the air excitedly when she meet someone she knew.

She was my camping partner. She usually kept me awake the first night of camping by jumping up to all the sounds outside our tent. By the second night she was worn out from hiking and would gratefully go into the tent to sleep.

Annie also liked to go on car trips as long as the car was going 60 or more. She got jumpy when the car slowed down because she thought she was going to be left. Annie kept me going when times were hard because I knew I needed to take care of her. We also took many great walks around the twin cites. I miss her and I am glad she was part of my life for so many years.

With graditude and love,
Annie
