Roscoe Poindexter by Tracy Smith / Mom

You came to me through default. You were the runt of the litter, the only male, and I already had your sister here with me. No one would take you, and I couldn’t leave you at the barn. You came home to a warm bed and your own bowl, and I’m not sure you ever figured that out. Even until the day Taffy died, you shared food and water bowls.

I know Taffy took you down lots of roads and got you in loads trouble….but I know you loved her and loved every minute with her. Remember your two trips to the golf course? I guess she never did convince you to roll in whatever SHE rolled in! I really never thought you would live so long without her. I’m so glad you were able to love Dok and Lumpy like you did and accept them. You were the real boss of the backyard – the elder statesman.

I miss Taffy, too, bud, but now you’re together. Give her puppy kisses, and catch her up on Baby Kasey….it’s hard to believe it’s been 3 years. I love you so much – you were always here for me and I hope to see you on
the other side of the Bridge….

I Will Always Love You,
