Nicky by Thomas & Michelle Kissel / Mommy & Daddy

On Friday, 11/17/06, at 2pm, my hubby and I allowed our vet and staff, who valiantly tried to care for and cure him, to end his suffering and send him over the Rainbow Bridge. Nicky was not able to overcome a severe bladder infection and pnumonia. He was 5 years old and he was my hubby’s hero (he answered to his name or his title). He was my hubby’s “sleep on my chest kitty”, he head-butted me every day, he drooled when he was particularly happy, he always had several questions to ask, and was a very opinionated member of the household. He also was nicknamed “Steve McQueen” for all of his 10-15 foot great escape attempts.

My hubby acquired Nicky from the Otero’s, he bit him the first time my hubby touched him, it WAS “love at first bite”!! After he took him home, and a few hisses later, he and my hubby’s other cat, Crybaby, got along famously. My hubby and I met and married, me being quite the cat collector myself. When we added a few kittys to our family, Nick had that look…”Why!?…Why do we need all the cats??!” Nicky got my hubby, was there through all his rough times ( real and/or imagined)and became a part of my happiness in life too. He got us through to this point…and WE really miss him.

My hubby had another pet who crossed over the Bridge, a Lapso-Terrier, Patches T. Puppy….I’ll bet right after Nicky bit her they shared some stories…….God bless you Nicky….we will miss you!! But your memory will be cherished forver!!…’Tis the circle of life…
