This has been a tough year for us. We lost two of our babies within months of each other. On March 9th, we found out that Asia had bone cancer and more than likely wouldn’t make through the summer, When we came home that day from the vets office Bear knew something was really wrong. He was a smart boy and he tried to comfort us the best he knew how, with lots of sloppy wet kisses. Although Asia was sick, she didn’t let that hold her down.
She still was a energetic happy baby.
Then one day in April, we noticed Bear was too quiet. So we went into his room and noticed him laying peacefully at his favorite spot in the house. Seeing him laying there broke my heart but i soon then realized it happened for a reason, he knew Asia was sick and he didn’t want her to be alone when her time came.
Asia was one tough cookie, she not only made it past the summer but made it through Thanksgiving. On Nov. 25th she decided it was time to go play with Bear. It will be hard for us not having them here for Christmas but knowing they will be together gives us some comfort.
I wrote a poem for them both:
Bears Path for Asia…
He made a path for her to walk,
He sat at the end and called her name,
So she would feel no fear.
They gave their love while they were here,
And was loved in return for many years.
Both leave behind Mommy and Daddy
with a broken heart.
She knows they will heal soon.
For they know she must also go,
So Her and Bear can walk from the end of his path, through the gates of Heaven TOGETHER…
