It has been over 17 years since we were together. You truly were born free, with an incredible sense of direction. We used to fish in the Fenton River off Gurleyville Road, and in short time you would wander off to have fun by yourself, always returning at a call. If I wanted your close to me, however, you would not leave. It is as if you knew when I wanted you by my side, and when you knew it was OK to go off on your own.
What a wonderful spirit and companion you were. My first encounter with unconditional love. It has been many years, but my love for you has never faded, and you will never be forgotten. In time, we will be together again for eternity. May your sweet, loving soul rest in peace.
