Charlie by Tom and Melissa Johnson / Tom and Melissa

He was a beautiful cat that we rescued from the Memphis animal shelter about three year ago. He was an older cat – the type that didn’t usually last long in shelters since most people want kittens. He had a surprised look on his face as he had been taken from a home of love and left by his owner. His owner had left in tears over giving him up but had to leave him due to her circumstances.

Melissa fell in love with him immediately and he became part of our family. We now know why his previous owner was in tears at losing him. He weasled his way into our heart and gave us unconditional love, not to mention moments
of joy and humor.

When cancer came to claim him, we felt cheated that his time with us was so short. Yet, we thank God for giving us this brief time with him. We would not trade it for anything.

They say there is a special place in Heaven for pets; a place called Rainbow Bridge. This is where the broken bodies of our beloved pets heal and they play with other pets until one day, we cross that bridge to be with them again. We know we are looking to the day when we can be back together again.

Until we are together again -
