Shakira by Judy / Judy on behalf of all our family and especially, Ashleigh xxx

Oh Shakira,

How our hearts weep for you. You came into our lives as a little ball of mischief so full of life and character. You were such a part of our lives that they are empty without you. You courted the most gorgeous Siamese tom on the block and gave birth admirably to a wonderful litter of beautiful kittens and we kept two just for you. One (Mischief) because she was the image of the father and (Mini-Me) your favourite, who was the image of you. Happy days, no more litters because you were spayed and nothing but sunshine memories.

We moved and you accepted that and you liked the new place a lot but your kits had grown and they simultaneously produced litters of their own. That seemed to scare you. You spent more and more time outdoors. We did not realize the dangers. You loved to go for long walks with me in the valley, stopping to check if I was following. I always was.

I recall the last time I saw you, you were relaxing on a garden wall and you looked at me with those amazing blue eyes of yours and said “Meow”. I did not realize I would never, ever see you again. We do not know if a barn owl took you, a snake, a leopard or a lynx – but you were gone without a single trace. I am still following you Shakira. One day if I finally make it to Heaven, I will see you again.
I am right behind you.

Thank you for all your precious love.
Shakira
