Max-
We saw you shaking in your cage at the humane society almost 12 years ago. You were not what we were looking for-but you stole our hearts and ended up being exactly what we wanted. You did everything with us from camping to swimming. You were the older brother to your two human brothers. I know the last few weeks you were holding on for us. That morning when you went outside and just laid in the grass let me know you were ready. We said our goodbyes as we always did but that morning we pretty much knew the end was near. Brian said he whispered to you that morning that it was ok to rest now before he left for work. You always did listen to him better! How thoughtful of you to go down to Brewster’s cage and lay down in front of his cage and fall to your heavenly sleep.
You passed the torch to the new leader. We love you Max and we miss you so much. Alex and Nate have all their Max stuffed animals out and pictures of you all over. You were a great dog, a good friend and loved by all. Even though the ache that is in our hearts is overwhelming at times, we know that you are in a better place now where
you can run around with King.
