Geordie by Shelly Wolf-Lake / Mama

Remembering the greatest dog who ever lived on the anniversary of his adoption into my life:

Geordie, I will always remember that special day I brought you home. I was so scared at what I’d taken on, wondering if I’d done the right thing. You were so frightened of everything, but within a week there was such a change in you. I could tell you felt at home, and were excited about all the good things that were happening to you: good food, walks, car rides, petting, a home and a person all your own …
I made many mistakes with you, which I feel so badly about, but I like to think I also did many things right. I’m sorry you didn’t feel as loved the last two years of your life, and that you were so confused and scared by our move, but I hope you did still know I loved you. This is our third anniversary apart, and I miss you so much. I will always love you more than anyone, and always remember
how wonderful you were.

Eternally yours,
Geordie
