Roxie by Clara / Mommy

Roxie. What a name for a queen. She moved like a leaf when she was a puppy, blowing up and down and around, weightless and rushing, making her own breeze. Then, in her middle age, she continued to leap like a leaf, many times with all four legs up off the ground. When she got older and content to just run to greet those she loved, happy to be near more than to play, she was still fast. Her heart would not delay the separation. She sat like a queen, never barked except to alert other dogs she was here. Her joy was to see her family. You could take her anywhere and she always listened. She was never trained. That’s just the way she was. She was a white boxer, with one blue eye and one brown. She looked related to the dog in the Never-ending Story. She was more than that. She was our queen and we love her still.

With Love,
Roxie
