Ginger by Tamara / Tamara, Mommy # 2

My dearest Ginger,

you survived distemper when you were a baby, before we got you, you were almost blind for years from the effects of glaucoma, and somehow without proper sight; you survived the cars speeding down the road when you had to be outside after the fire….For 10 of those years, you only had one eye to see anything at all with.. But, somehow, suddenly, in an instant you were dying after you got out of bed to eat… Not once n your years were you ever sick, malnourished or ever gave us any kind of sign of death, but it all happened within an hour. You died in My arms..

You never were an “old cat”, but seemed to always be a kitten at heart. You were a crutch and the only companion of stability through a lot of dark times through the years.. You were so beautiful and everyone loved your personality and loyalty.. You’d run around the house meowing “hello??”..

I hope cremating you was a good thing and I am still waiting to get a visit from you. It has been almost 2 weeks now, and the pain is still as strong as ever.. I hope when I am passing, you will be at the bridge waiting for me…

I love you, My precious Ginger Snap..,
Ginger
