Bella by Sasha and Daddy / Sasha, Daddy and Sally x

Bella darling, I like to think that daddy gave you the best quality of life that he could have done. I know that he was clueless at times but honestly he loved you so, so much… when he saw your frail little body on the kitchen floor this morning, he picked you up and you were still warm, so you weren’t long gone. You may have even breathed your last breath in his arms.

I don’t know what he’s going to do without you, you were his companion and probably his best friend too. You lived to a ripe old age and we will look at your collection of stones (that has accumulated in various different places on the floor of the camper van since we rescued you in summer 2005!), and we will remember you, proudly and fondly.

Not only are daddy and I absolutely heartbroken that you’re gone, but I feel guilty… because the last time I saw you, I didn’t even say a proper goodbye to you. I thought you were getting better.. I’m so, so, so sorry. I guess we’ll never know what was wrong with you … all I can say is that I am endlessly sorry for not seeing that you were ill sooner. Then maybe you’d soon be with us.

Me, Daddy, Jess and Sally are going to scatter you in your favourite places; Dartmoor, Sandygate, Teignmouth, Brunel .. and of course, the back garden, we’re going to give you a beautiful memorial in the garden.

I hope you like it up there my beautiful; there will be an endless supply of animals for you to chase (and to make friends with … but mainly to chase, haha!) and you will be eternally happy, comfortable and free.

Wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge; daddy and I will meet you there ♥

Love and miss you always,
Bella
