We still can’t believe you are gone. We listen for you fussing over the neighbour dog being near YOUR yard, we hear your toenails clicking on the floor as you come for hugs and pets. We wonder what to do with your dishes and your food and your bowls, because we can’t bear to get rid of them. We long to hear you barking at the pedestrians and bicyclists who dared to pass your home. You once even barked at Lance Armstrong, who passed by on a charity ride. We knew you were a big softie, so we chuckled when we heard you “defending” your yard. It feels today, the day after you left us, like it will never be better again without you. Goodbye, Lexi. You were the sweetest, gentlest dog who ever lived, and we will never stop loving you.
We will always miss you.
