Hiro

This was Hiro (short for Hiromasa), our big boy and dog of our heart. we had to make the painful decision to put him down and he passed away on Saturday, August 12th. It’s been especially hard as we lost our other "baby", Isis, a german sheperd, three years ago on August 10th. Hiro was an 11 1/2 yr old Akita but as time was going on he suffered from incontinence, kidney/bladder stones, and arthritis. We upped his painkillers two weeks before the end, and the last week was terribly hard.We’ve since gotten a beautiful 11 week old Vizsla, and while he’s bringing us the smiles and joys we need, we still miss Hiro greatly. This is picture –to me–encompasses the beauty of the dog he was…strong, stoic and the family’s best friend. He will be greatly missed.
