English Bulldog, daughter of Boun and César Born, raised, and loved in Alfortville
Hawaii was born fragile, with her two little eyes marked by cherry eye, which made her bump into walls before she bravely learned to know her home by heart. She was the last of her litter, the one no one would have chosen… except Céline, who saw in her a special gentleness, a little soul who only needed a bit more love.
She grew up surrounded by her family: her mother Boun, Céline, Sébastien, and the three children. Then life took different paths, but never broke the bonds.
Hawaii stayed with Sébastien, along with her mother, until her mother passed away in 2025. She then continued her journey alone with him—faithful, tender, aging, but always present.
On February 12, 2026, at 13 years old, just two months before her 14th birthday, Hawaii passed away in front of the emergency entrance of the Maisons-Alfort Veterinary School. Tired, weakened, fasting, woken too early for a difficult surgery, she lay down on the ground, breathing with difficulty.
Sébastien carried her, stayed with her, hydrated her, stroked her. She still reacted… and then nothing.
A cardiac collapse. The veterinarians did everything they could, but her little heart decided it was time to stop.
She left in the hands of those who loved her. She left after an entire life spent in Alfortville, in the same town, in the same home, in the same love.
She will be individually cremated, and her ashes may one day rest with Sébastien, or be scattered at the Asnières pet cemetery.
Hawaii existed. She was loved. She mattered. And she always will.
