Goodbye is not forever
Is so hard to believe.
When all your thoughts are on them
Wishing they didn’t have to leave.
All the fun we had together
The pain you helped me through
Doesn’t help the feelings
Of me missing you.
You came into my life
And opened up my heart
But now with all this trouble
Has torn us all apart.
They told me that you had no right
But it isn’t fair
That they value a human’s life
More than they do a dog’s
This is my love letter

For you are my comfort
