COLLIN by Trudy Gardner / Love, Auntie Khani

Dear Collin,

This is a poem I read a few weeks after Koa went to Doggie Heaven and although it still makes me cry whenever I read it I wanted to share it with you too. I hope you and Boo are having fun together. I do try to imagine the two of you running and playing and it does make me smile inside. Remember to let him get away with a few of his silly little things and keep him safe.

I thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday
And days before that too
I think of you in silence
I often speak your name
All I have are memories and
Your picture in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake
With which I’ll never part
God has you in his keeping
I have you in my heart

I spoke to your Mummy last night and she was very sad. She misses you so much and so does your sister Gidget. They have each other still and that will keep them strong. Take care dear Collin and please tell Koa I love him and miss him each and every day and especially today, Mother’s Day.

Run, Play and BARK!
