Minnie by Amy Mcpherson / Amy and Grandma

I snuck you into our lives snuggled
beneath my coat,
So Mamma wouldn’t see you, and exclaim,
“that’s all she wrote”.
But you stole everyone’s heart
as soon as they saw your face.
Even Mamma couldn’t object,
She didn’t have a case.
Even though you were tiny,
your attitude was humongous.
That tiny little body held
the largest heart among us.
You tried so hard to tell us all,
in your own little way,
” I am here and I am in charge,
and It will be done MY way today”.
We tried so hard to save you,
we couldn’t let you go.
Your little body couldn’t
fight the battle,
Our hearts were breaking so.
We held you in our arms as long
as we possibly could,
Till we had to say good-bye
like we never thought we would.
Now that you are in heavan,
You can tug on Jesus’ robe,
tell him that you love him
by gnawing his ear lobe.
When we get to Heaven
we’ll be looking for face,
that little nose and
those big brown eyes,
Where we’ll be together again,
in a place with no good-byes.
