Tigger by Caroline McCluskey / Your Family

You looked at me with big dark eyes
and told me your time was near,
I knew I had to give you strength
and not yet shed a tear.
“Don’t cry for him” my little son said
“wait till he is gone,”
I knew from you old and frail body
I would not be waiting for long.

You closed your eyes and left this world
on a cold and snowy night,
As you made your way up to the bridge
and into a warmer light.
I stand and gaze at the sunny spot
where you used to lay on the floor,
And feel the ache in my heart
that you are here no more.

I know the pain of the moment will fade
and I’ll remember only you,
But the days ahead I don’t think of you…
will be very few.
There are others who are my friends,
others loyal and true.
But for all my life dear Tigger…
There will never be another you.

With all our love big man,
Tigger
