Boxer / Mastiff
Moose was given to me a year ago.
It breaks my heart still that the owner before us never took
him to the vets we did but it was to late.
He got heart worms real bad they say he had the parents
and baby worms so we had to put him to sleep.
I remember how in the mornings when I’m on the couch he would
come over and rest his head on my lap and just look up at me with
those big brown eyes.
Sometimes he would think he’s a lap dog and jump up and hug me
and always give me a kiss. When my husband was on his 6 months
deployment Moose knew when we would have our
supper and later popcorn. He loved popcorn.
I’ll never forget the time I was in the shower and moose thought I
was in there to long and he started to bark so I got out and he was happy.
When I emailed my husband when he was on ship he would put his head
on my lap and watch me write to my husband.
I miss him so much . He was so afraid of thunder I would have to lay down
with him to calm him down.
When my husband came home he didn’t forget his dad
he was all over him. Every night my husband would take him
out and play catch with him. At Christmas I would wrap his gift and
he open it and at Easter he had a basket full of
bones and treats.
Moose you will never be forgotten I miss you so much,
I miss our rides and just the way you would wake us up to go out.
You thought you were a person and to me you were.
I love you moose and I hope your not in pain anymore.
I still feel the pain and hurt that you are gone.
And I’ll never forget how you actually climb the fence..
your picture is on my refrigerator it looks like you
are watching me.
Always remember you’ll never be forgotten.
You were more than just a dog to me.
Bye and I love you.
