My family got Biff when I was seven. My parents, Steve and Kathy, my brother, Nathan, and I went to the local pet store. We knew we wanted Biff from the moment we saw him. He kept pulling my mom’s shoelaces and backing up.
Through the next 18 years we all developed our own personal bond with Biff. For mom I think it was always giving him a treat when she got home and holding him while he turned his head from one side to the other and sighed. He was her “lover dog”.
For dad, Biff was a constant companion who never left his side. Dad fed him and “watered” him and took him outside. They were sleeping buddies. When dad made hamburgers Biff even got his own “biffy burger”. Talk about spoiled. My dad was up every 2 hours the last year of Biff’s life to help him up and down stairs and outside.
Nathan and Biff had a love-hate relationship. No, really, I know better than that. Nathan just never got over the time that Biff stole his cheeseburger and ate it while Nathan was on the phone.
They were brothers.
And me, well it was just knowing that unconditional love existed. That no matter what, Biff loved me and I loved him. We spent a lot of time together just hanging out. He will always be my best friend.
It was hard for all of us to let go of our best friend, Biff. He is deeply missed and my parent’s house is quiet now
that all the children are gone.
All Our Love Forever,
