Figaro was the most intelligent, sweetest, and most adorable cat that ever existed. I know this is probably what everyone thinks about their cats, but in this case, it’s true. He never bit or scratched any one even when he was sick or hurt.
Figaro was unique because he really carried on conversations with people. You could ask him a question and he would meow his answer back to you. Sometimes the noises he made really sounded like words.
Figaro found me when I was in a pet store actually walking to the counter with another kitten in my arms. I heard a loud mew, and when I looked in the cage, I saw a little tuxedo kitten staring at me with his paws on the wall of the cage. I asked to hold him and he immediately put his nose in my neck and started purring loudly. I ended up putting the other kitten back as I had clearly been chosen!
Figaro had a good life, although I expected it to be much longer. I just never really considered that the day would come when I would never see him again. His death was very recent and I still have days when I’m unable to get him off my mind. Luckily I do have another cat, Grommet, who seems to know what I’m going through and gives me a lot of love.
I also did not realize how much I depended upon Figaro before he died. I loved him so much, and seeing him really made me happier. I guess I never really thought about it until he was gone.
I will always love and miss you.
