I got Dixie when I first when off to graduate in Chicago and was feeling so alone in a new city. She was the best cat -always playful! It was great to have someone happy to see me when I came home, since this was my first time to live without my sorority sisters or roommates. We had 8 great years together…she stuck with my through everything…different boyfriends, jobs, and a LONG car ride when I moved back to Texas! She lived with Jonathan in his apartment before we got married so they could get used to each other (he had never been around cats before). It was a rocky start for the two of them, but by the time we were married 6 months later and I moved in they were the best of friends! She loved it when we moved into our new house. So much more room to explore and many more windows to watch the birds outside.
I am so sorry for what happened to her, and hope that she knows that somehow. The doctors tried everything. I hate that I never got to tell her goodbye one last time. I love her so much,miss her everyday, and believe that one day we’ll be reunited in heaven if the Lord allows.
