You was 4 months old, when we heard
that your owners were giving you away.
So me and my finance’ went to see you and
see if we wanted to take you home with us.
When we had got there you were
tied to a stump by a trailer
in a trailer park.
You were nervous when we went up to you,
but you came to me and licked my hand,
then I pettied your head.
I knew then that I was taking you home.

We brought you home to my parents house
where I was living at the time.
You were a wedding gift from your daddy
(my finance’),
we got married September 1, 2000.
You played with my other dogs,
running around the yard and jumping
and wagging your tail the whole time.

Then after September 1, 2000 we moved
from my parent’s house and
moved in with your daddy(my husband).
You had your brothers and sisters
with you and a much bigger yard
to run and play.
Days went by, we grew closer,
you was my shadow, and you got bigger.
We would all play together in the yard,
tackle was the favorite game.
You were bad I gave you a lecture,
and you would just smile at me and
wag your tail, knowing that
I would give you a huge and kiss
after the lecture.

But then that one day in April of 2001,
my world was not the same.
You had ate all your supper and
then we went walk in our pasture
to see the horses. You was running around and
all of a sudden you stopped and
started vomiting up your supper.
I knew something had to be wrong.
Later that day you were still
not doing good.

So I decided the next morning
I would take you to the vet and
have you checked.
That morning you were looking worse.
So I hurried to the vet and
they checked you and had a blood test done
on you. You stayed at the vet and
I went to work very worried about you and
if you were going to be ok.

The vet called me and asked me
if you got into anything toxic.
I told her no.
She said that you had gotten
into something and it was giving
your kidneys trouble.

You stayed at the vets office for a week,
me hoping that you were getting better,
but you were only getting worse.
I went see you before and
after work everyday.
It was very upsetting to see you
there everyday and not home
where you should have been.
You could not eat a thing and drink
anything because right after
you drank or ate you started vomiting.
You were on an IV the whole time.

They took another blood test and
it was showing your kidneys
as being worse.
So by the fifth day was a Friday,
I asked the vet if there was any chance
that you would come out of this,
she sadly told me no.
So I called your daddy and he came by.
I told him that it was time to tell
you good-bye. So we took you for
a walk outside in the grass and
you laid in the grass and
then when it was time to go back
in you did not even get up,
your daddy carried you back in and
we told the vet.

As we waited for her to get the shot
for you ready, we sat by and
you put your head on my leg and
looked up at me to say
that it was time for me to go,
then you took your head off my leg and
put it to the back of the cage.
When the vet was ready mama (Me)
could not stay I was too upset and
could not handle it,
but your daddy stayed with you and
then brought your body home
to bury you under your
favorite tree to chase squirrels.

That was the saddess day of my life
at the time. I cried for you everyday,
at your grave side.
It has been over a year and
I still miss you and think of you.

Since you have gone to rainbow bridge,
I know that there will never
be another Dalmatian for me.
You were the first and the last.

I never will forget you, and
no one could take your place in my heart.
I love you..
My smiley spotted boy.

We will always love you and
never forget you.

Mommy and Daddy
