We lost my father about 2 years ago suddenly. My parents lived in Michigan and I live in Florida. My name is Dawn. My parents planned to retire in Florida as alot of northerns do. My father worked for General Motors for 40 years and decided to retire. He retired and passed away 3 days later. Our family was devastated. My mother mostly. My family have always had animals. My father’s Siberian Husky, Duchess, passed away a week after my father. 2 blows within a week. I flew my father’s German Shepard, Francis, to Florida to live with us and our 3 pugs. My mother came down to Florida to live after everything was settled up north. Where she is now, they don’t allow large pets, only small.
I took all of the dogs to the vet yesterday for shots etc. and saw this little calico cat up front for adoption. Immediatly I fell in love with her and knew my mother would also. I couldn’t see this kitty because she was laying in her litter box! 😉 I asked the girls about her, they said she was only 7 months old and the sweetest thing that ever lived. Without even picking her up I said I’ll take her! The best part of this story is that I had learned this little kitty was hit by a car a week ago. She was brought in by a good semaritan almost dead. Almost no life was in this baby. She has a broken front left leg and several stiches all over her body. She is so battered. BUT, the Dr.s worked and worked on her and said with a little TLC she will be as good as new. I brought her home to my mother and she just fell in love with her. My mother is a great care taker of animals and this little girl is going to have more love than she knows what to do with.
I called my mom last night to see how she was adapting to her new home, my mother said she was curled up right beside her in bed, sometimes she sprawls out leaving my mother no room to lay 🙂 and that she loves her belly rubbed! My other said as the kitty walks on the tile floor she goes, thunk, thunk, thunk, with her cast, very cute!
So, all in all, my mother will not be alone anymore, she will have this beautiful kitty, whom we have yet to name. So like I said, one loss was a little kitty’s gain. My mother lost my father, but is able to take care and love this little kitty and give it a wonderful happy life!!!
All of our love to a little miracle,
