Santa choose to bring Woody to our little girl on Christmas eve 1998 in New York. He was the cutest, dumbest, hyper little boxer puppy. In 2000 we decided to move home to Ireland and of course Woody was coming too even though he did have to go through quarantine. He was part of the family and loved his new Irish life.
In July 2002, Woody’s son Buzz came into the world and joined our family for Niamh’s birthday in Sept. He welcomed my twin boys David and Matthew into our family in March 2003 and has been my solace and companion through all the good times and licked
my tears when I was in pain.
Woody went to sleep yesterday morn,10 am with all of us by his side. The tumor in his chest made it impossible in the last few days for him to lie down so with the caring support of our vet Tom we had to make that dreadful decision to put Woody to sleep. My children are devastated; my husband is trying to put on a brave face and I am struggling to know how to make a new life without my buddy by my side.
Today we are planting a cherry blossom tree and now I understand why, on other occassions, getting a cheery blossom never seemed materialise. This tree will be planted right next to Woody’s grave and I hope in time it will reflect the beauty that is,
was and will always be Woody.
All my love and cuddles,
WOODY |
