BJ, Pumpkin & Bennie by Kerry / Mommy

A little orange kitten was chosen by myself and my then young daughters in 1990, due to her color we called her pumpkin, she was feisty and playful and at times hard to handle but non the less we loved her, in 1991 one of my other cats who was called Boo had a litter of kittens and shortly after that she was hit by a car, we also took on two of the kittens for our own and named them BJ and Bennie (They were sisters).

The years rolled by with the three cats growing up in our household, they all had their own little quirks and habits and would all wait for me to get home from work in the evening by the door.

Eventually my daughters graduated from High School and left home, I moved and took the three cats with me, they were now in their teens and getting on in cat years. Shortly after moving I noticed BJ having problems eating; I took her to the vet and it was found to be cancer of the jaw.
She was 15 now and putting her to sleep was a stress I said I never wanted again in my life! And now there were two..

Pumpkin was the oldest and about a year later she was blind, had a couple of minor strokes and after a trip to Chicago I came home to find she had a blood clot in her leg, she was 19 and again I had to have this cat I loved so much for so long put to sleep and now there was one. .I moved again to Northern Michigan and took Bennie with me. .at this time she was 16 and we enjoyed ourselves, she loved to be covered up; she loved to eat meals with me and she woke me every morning..I was told awhile ago that she had kidney failure and recently I noticed she was not eating and had a foul smell.

I took her to the vet yesterday and was told she too had cancer in her mouth. . for the third time
in about 5 years I have had to put another beloved cat to sleep, I am now in mourning again.
We love our pets so deeply as if they were our children, letting go is very painful and I miss her terribly, the end of another beautiful life and the end of an era. . Three Amigos. .Rest in peace and I will be
with you again one day!

With love eternally,
BJ, Pumpkin & Bennie
