I remember the first day you came into my life. Your pride reminded me of a song called Big, Bad, Leroy Brown. Your colors reminded me of many a junk yard dog, hence Jake the junk yard dog. You were everything but. I called you many names over the years. Bubba, Little Man, as well as Lickey Lick. Lickey lick was a name that anyone who met you would call you as you never met a hand or face you would not lick. You could be mischievious as well as quite the escape artist. God was most gracious in always bringing you back to me. You were and always will be my best friend. You cheered me up when I was sad and made me laugh when I cried. Indeed, you were there for some of the darkest days of my life. My constant companion for these many years.
I shall always remember how you kept me warm through those cold winter nights, your baby boy moans whenever I picked you up, how you loved to have your belly rubbed, and last but not least how you tucked your head between mine and my shoulder and gave me that last lickey lick. Know that I loved you with all my heart and you are badly missed. Rest in peace my Little Man.
Until we meet again,
Jake |
