Tommy came to us as a stray in North Caorlina. He was just a kitten with smokey gray hair, white paws, a white muzzle, pink nose and pink lips. He was beautiful. He grew into a large muscular cat who was always gentle and non-aggressive. He loved to play with toys and had a gentleness about him that touched your heart. Our move to Texas seemed to go without a hitch until we had a hailstorm that pounded hail on our skylights. Tommy was never the same. He was petrified of rain and any loud noises after that. He began spraying all over the house and continued to do this for years. Setting him free (outside) was not an option because of his fear of rain and thunder and due to the fact of his unaggressive nature. We spent thousands of dollars on tests and prescriptions to try and fix this problem but, all to no avail. At 13 or 14 years old, we finally had to put him to sleep. I held him in my arms while the vet admistered the lethal dose and was able to kiss him and tell him I loved him before the dose took effect. The pain is almost unbearable. He was a precious soul and I will miss him for the rest of my days. Thank you God. For I know that my baby boy is running free in Heaven now. Tommy, you are my heart.
Loving you always,
Tom (aka Tommy) |
