When my son and I decided to go to our local shelter to look for a dog, we searched through all of the kennels, walked by each pet, and I told my son, “no, that’s not the one…..that one either”” – we came to the very last kennel, and there sat my little dark eyed beauty. She was looking up at us with those huge, seal pup eyes and just shivering, her eyes went straight to my soul, and I said, “”that’s the one, she’s coming home with us””. She was shivering from nose to tail, and severely underweight, weighing just about 9 lbs. We could see each rib and vertebra. When the attendant brought her out of the cage and gave her to me, she clung to me with all her might
