Our dog Shelley was a certified Therapy Dog. We went to the hospital to visit the geriatric ward clients. One day we were walking into the hospital and an older lady was sitting in a chair outside the door. She asked “How are we today?” I replied ‘We’re fine”. She said “I’m not talking to you, I’m talking to the dog”. (smile) So she told her story to Shelley and we walked into the hospital. The nurse was watching all this and said to me, “That lady hasn’t talked to anybody in weeks, but she talked to Shelley”. Shelley the Wonder dog performed her magic.
