Dear Sara, on Monday, October 27th, 2003, it will be two years since you had to suddenly leave us. There has not been one day when we have not thought about you and your funny ways.

We have had one more addition here at the house, a cat named Midnite, who was found at 5 weeks wondering on the streets, we know you sent him to us. If you were still here you would have to do a lot of bathing at night with this crew. We remember how quietly they used to lie there for you while you gave each of them their nightly baths; I know they loved you for that.

Also this summer when Whitney, Derek, Bandit, Zyggee and Magnum were chasing each other, we thought we saw you in there chasing with them just like you used to do. We put your special Kong away so no one else can have it in remembrance of you. We still remember how you loved it and would not let the kong go when dad came out to say it was time for bed, you were always so funny then that look in your eyes that said “ah come on dad just a little bit more time.”

Zyggee really misses you and while she does play with Magnum we can see it in her eyes that she wished you were here with her. Zyggee spends the time still kicking dad off the sofa just like the two of you used to do to him. Zyggee likes dad’s pats now and when she bucks and broncs, you immediately come to mind and as I am watching them play I see you before me and think it is you.

We visit at your plank on the boardwalk often, stop to say hello and have a wee chat and then we sit on the bench and dad and I talk about the times when you were with us, both loving thoughts of you and of the many antics you got into.

How is your Grandpa Percy doing? Hope he is taking good care of all of you. Say hi to Apollo, Rachel and Whitey for us and by now I hope you have seen your Auntie Amy and have met a Scottie named Mac from New Jersey, both of whom went to the Rainbow Bridge in the past two weeks. We truly hope you are all having fun with Grandpa Percy.

Zyggee visits at the personal care home where your Grandma Eddie now resides and I know you would have been great at that too. We see so much resemblance of you coming out in Zyggee now and wonder if you are sending messages to her to act in certain ways that bring you immediately to mind.

We wish we didn’t have to part so quickly, it is so hard to let go and we wish we could hold and kiss you again. Your dad and I are retiring December 31st, 2003 and we wish that you could still be here so we could spend even more time with you. I guess what helps us through the days and when it comes to certain dates, is we just go to your plank and visit, and visit your In-Memory-of-Pets website and talk about you.

That is what we will be doing on Monday, October 27th, 2003 and we hope that when we visit and sit on the bench by the lake you will be looking over us. Sara we love you just as much today as we did when you were with us. You can never be forgotten and are deep in our hearts forever.

With lots of love, hugs and kisses we will close our reflection for this year, we know you are “Som
