I don’t understand some people. How bad they are inside. I own a house that I rent out. A woman I was renting to left 7 cats inside the building locked in with no food or water. It was hot here in Minnesota going into the 100 degrees each day. I had no idea that they were there. Trapped inside with nothing to eat or drink. The heat soaring and no air movement. By the time I checked the building the cats had been abandoned about 10 days. The smell was bad and you could tell some were dead already.
A large beautiful Tabby has crawled under a stove and died. We were live trapping them as best as we could and getting vet help right away. The first died about 6 hours after being at the vet. The second died while taking it to the vet. The third was found dead. It goes on and on. The neighbors told me that this woman had litter after litter of kittens and just pushed them to the street after they grew to big. The house has cats coming to the door all day long trying to get in. We can not catch them they are wild. I leave food out and fresh water each day.
Yesterday we were able to catch a little white cat. Her eyes were bitten by flees and she had drainage spilling out of them. Covered in fleas eyes infected. Clinging to life. A kitty that had once ran from humans now came asking for help. She purred as she was wrapped in the blanket, loved and held on the way to the vet.
We rushed her to the vet. Only to be told that there was no hope, Feline Leukemia. She was put to sleep. As I cried and my sister cried I just said go to the “Bridge little one” Where is hope I thought? My sister and I had a restless night. Sad that all we did was catch the kitty to end it’s life. There is no cure for FLV it had to be put to sleep so that other cats would not be exposed to it. My sister’s daughter died last Christmas. It has been a hard time for her and all of us. When my sister got up in the morning she was thinking, why had I said, go to the bridge little one. No one ever loved that cat. No one was waiting for it on the bridge. It had been abused all it’s short life and now I was telling it to go to the bridge.
In her pain over this she told me that directly behind her was the voice of her Daughter, she said: You know Mom I love cats I met it on the bridge she’s with me now. Joy through tears our Little ones are together. We now know that FLV is all over the neighborhood. The cats come to the building to die. I think in hopes of maybe finding the shelter of their birth. I know they want to live.
I know they want to understand why this has happened to them. What humanity has turned it’s back on God will punish and repay. I feel so full of hate for this woman that started this abuse. All I can think is that there is a hot place waiting for her in hell.
For all the little kittens and cats left to die,
go to the bridge Nicole is waiting for you.
