Lazer’s Story
At the time of the Gulf War, you were only a flicker in my mind. You were a gift from me to Lori to keep her out of the Marines
I can still remember the day Lori picked you instead of your brother. Lori chose you because you were more rambunctious than your brother. I will always remember how I grew to love you too and how you and Lori loved each other from the start and the two nights she slept on the floor with you. After that it was her bed. And when I’d walk in the room there were the two of you lying side by side, head to head, right next to each other. You looked like a husband and wife. Your head on Lori’s shoulder and a smile on your face. Lori loved you with all of her heart and you were one lucky dog to have found such a loving and caring mother. And you loved her like no dog has loved another human. You were the one who would always let me know when she came home, you sensed her car from a block away and would greet her at the door and follow her around the house.
When I suffered so many losses in my life, you were like a candle in the night, and would come and lick my face on so many occasions. It hurts me so to see how much pain your leaving has caused my Lori.
I’ll remember how beautiful you looked at her wedding and how you missed her when she went on her honeymoon. I’ll miss you when Lori, Jason, Nicole and Joseph go on vacation now, because I always watched you at that special time, and that was our special time together.
Unfortunately, all wonderful things must come to an end once all of our lessons are learned in life. But we always carry those we love with us each day deep within our hearts. As time goes on, the hurt will seize, but our love for you will go on forever and we will all miss you terribly, especially Lori.
I'll Love you always and forever,
