Angel came to live with me when he was two months old. I looked into those brown eyes and fell instantly in love. He had such heart, and the purest soul; he listened when I needed someone to talk to; he wiped away a few hundred tears with that big ole tongue; he cracked me up with his dramatic tricks (point and say bang, and he did John Wayne proud)he protected our family, loved my children and then grandchildren. He gave unconditional love and acceptance. What he asked for in return wasn’t much, just to be petted, fed, watered, petted, walked, petted, played with, petted, oh, and his ears rubbed, did I mention petted? He weighed close to 100 lbs. but he thought he was a little guy and could still lay in my lap.

I come in the house now and it is so silent. He always met me at the door, with his big ole tail banging everything aroud it, knocking things off of the table, banging on the washer like a drum. How do you thank such a precious being for all that they have given us. I hope he knew as he was passing over, that I would have done anything to help him, paid any price if he could have been healed, I only let him go, because I loved him so much and I could not bear for him to suffer. I will never forget you, my faithful friend, go with your creator and be well.

Love always,
Teri-Buckley
